On October 4th 2012 Eliezer Yudkowsky mentioned this book on LessWrong, describing it as one of the only two works of rationalist fiction, the other being The World of Null-A, which I already added to my list on his recommendation some time ago.
It isn't available on Amazon, which is interesting... quite obscure, then, I imagine.
