Watched because it featured on the Top 10 Films of 2008 by YourMovieSucks in mid/late 2014. Pitched Burn After Reading to Mum one weekend evening but she'd already seen and disliked it, but she liked the sound of this one.

I really enjoyed the first half but felt the transition through the significant event was handled a little abruptly. The whole time I was naturally thinking thoughts like 'I wonder how much of this truly reflects the man' and 'They're totally glossing over his shortcomings and problems', but that was fine until towards the end I started getting genuinely suspicious that the nice old couple were going to turn out to be crazy or something. Plus his ex-fiancee really did a poor job of acting sad about his life after her.

Overall though pretty interesting and maybe I just wasn't in the right mood to be mega affected by it (YMS said it would be guaranteed to make you cry, I was never close to that).
