Decided to read it after reading about H.G. Wells on Wikipedia it sounded intriguing. Got from Ed for my 23rd birthday (arrived direct from Amazon Sep 28th).

Took it to London towards the end of November 2010, after finishing Some Mistakes of Moses (although while still reading Guns, Germs, and Steel), and read a couple of chapters while on the tube. Finished it off in bed on the 1st of December. Pretty short, and I had been given too many spoilers for my taste, I knew the basic plot outline and there were no surprises. I didn't find it that compelling, a cute story though and I appreciate its place in history.
